Washington and Tehran are each reviewing new mediator proposals aimed at reaching an agreement, Breitbart reports. A fresh framework for a deal is said to be taking shape after Qatari mediators met with Iranian officials in Tehran.

The United States and Iran are separately studying new proposals from mediators aimed at reaching a deal. That’s according to Breitbart, which cited a source familiar with the discussions.
A New Framework Takes Shape
The outlet reports that a fresh basis for an agreement with Iran is emerging. This follows a meeting in Tehran between Iranian officials and mediators from Qatar. A source familiar with the talks described the discussions as ”positive”. Washington and Tehran are each reviewing the mediators’ proposals on their own, the report adds.
Trump’s Social Media Comments
News of the talks surfaced shortly after President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday. He said Iran wants to reach a settlement as quickly as possible. Trump also suggested a deal could be within reach. He linked falling oil prices to growing market confidence. Traders apparently believe a full scale conflict with Iran can still be avoided.
Iran’s Seven Point Plan
Tehran has said it offered Washington a seven point plan. The proposal included options for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. In exchange, Iran wants the naval blockade lifted and oil export restrictions eased. However, Trump rejected the plan. Iran’s foreign ministry later said it had received the US response. Tehran also said it shared its assessment of that response through Qatari channels.
