US Strike Hits Wheat Storage Facility in Southwest Iran; Strikes Near Hormuz Span Seven Hours

American fighter jets, drones, and naval vessels targeted dozens of Iranian military sites near the Strait of Hormuz and on Wednesday morning, a wheat storage tank in Hoveyze paid the price.

Wheat Storage Tank Hit in Southwest Iran

A wheat storage reservoir in Hoveyze a city in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province was struck by American forces early Wednesday morning. The attack was reported by Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB. The facility is a civilian grain storage site, and its targeting drew fresh attention to the expanding footprint of US strikes inside Iranian territory.

“On Wednesday morning, [US forces] hit a wheat storage tank in Iran’s Hoveyze,” the report from the broadcaster stated.

CENTCOM Confirms Dozens of Military Targets Hit

The strike on the grain facility came amid a wider and far more intense military operation. US Central Command formally confirmed it had completed yet another round of strikes against Iran, hitting dozens of military targets clustered around the Strait of Hormuz and along Iran’s coastline.

US fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels launched precision munitions against Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems during the seven-hour operation aimed at further degrading Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews.

Seven Hours of Relentless Bombardment

The additional round of strikes was completed at 10 p.m. EDT, with over 20 US Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft operating across the Middle East during the operation. The campaign struck missile positions, drone operator deployment points, Iranian naval facilities, and coastal defense infrastructure a list that underscored just how broadly Washington defined its target set.

Widening Conflict Around the Strait of Hormuz

The broader context makes the Hoveyze strike all the more striking. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had warned that as long as US “evil actions” continue in the region, “not a single drop of oil and gas” would be exported and that US aggression would only delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian state media also reported that at least one person was killed and four others injured in the latest wave of US strikes those casualties came at an agricultural water pumping station in Mahshahr city, according to FARS news agency.

Escalation With No End in Sight

Kuwait’s armed forces detected and intercepted one ballistic missile, five cruise missiles, and 33 drones in attacks that targeted several vital and civilian facilities with debris falling and causing material damage. Iran’s strikes on US regional partners appeared to be direct retaliation for the American offensive inside Iranian territory.

Washington continued to send messages to Tehran indicating that negotiations remain an option even as Trump told reporters: “They fired first, and that was a very big mistake.”
