US Vice President JD Vance says Iran must cut its uranium enrichment capacity for Washington’s demands to be met and for the Middle East conflict to finally wind down, he told Reuters.

US Vice President JD Vance says Iran needs to reduce its uranium enrichment capacity. He believes this is necessary for Washington’s demands to be satisfied and for the Middle East conflict to end.
What Vance Told Reuters
Vance gave an interview to the Reuters news agency. He stressed that any agreement between Iran and the United States must involve Tehran cutting back its uranium enrichment capabilities.
“I think if they [Iran’s authorities] want to show they are willing to give up building nuclear weapons, they should take real steps regarding their enrichment capacities [of uranium],” Vance said, as quoted by the agency.
Washington Says The Door Remains Open
Vance claims Washington remains open to reaching a deal with Tehran. However, he insists the US expects concrete concessions from Iran on the nuclear question before any agreement can move forward.
A Conflict That Still Hasn’t Been Settled
The United States and Israel began striking targets inside Iran on February 28. Iran responded with its own strikes against both countries soon afterward.
In mid June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to halt hostilities between them. Strikes resumed later anyway, and the conflict remains unresolved to this day.
