Iran’s parliament speaker says the US midterm vote sent a clear message against war with Iran, as Trump hints Washington is in no rush to strike Tehran again.

American voters used the midterm congressional elections to reject war with Iran. That is the view of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of Iran’s parliament.
Major US Networks Predict a Democratic Win
Big American outlets, including CNN and NBC, had already forecast that Democrats would take control of both chambers of Congress. This prediction came before final results were confirmed. It set the backdrop for Ghalibaf’s comments about the Iran US conflict.
Ghalibaf Praises the Election Message
Ghalibaf shared his reaction on the social platform X. He wrote: “Americans said “no” to war, and we support this message.” His post framed the midterm results as a rejection of further military action tied to the Iran US conflict.
Trump Signals He Is Not Rushing Into New Strikes
On Monday, President Trump spoke to the news outlet Axios. He stressed that Washington is “not in a hurry” to restart hostilities with Tehran. Reporters from the presidential press pool later asked him directly. They wanted to know if new strikes on Iranian soil were possible after the midterms. Trump’s answer was short: “No.”
A Conflict That Has Simmered Since February
The United States and Israel began striking targets inside Iran on February 28. Iran answered with its own strikes soon after. In mid June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum meant to end the fighting. Strikes were exchanged again later despite that agreement. The Iran US conflict remains unresolved as of now.
