Iran Says It Is Fully Prepared for Every Possible Scenario in Its Standoff With the US

Tehran has made it clear it is ready for any turn of events in its ongoing conflict with Washington. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei issued the warning publicly, just days after the Pentagon was reported to have drawn up a fresh list of Iranian targets for potential strikes.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Issues Bold Warning to Washington

Tehran is not blinking and it wants the world to know it. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei declared on Monday that Tehran stands fully prepared for every possible scenario in its deepening standoff with the United States. The statement came during a formal press briefing, where Baghaei left little room for ambiguity.

“We are ready for any scenario. Iran’s armed forces over 40 days of combat showed we will respond with full force to any reckless move,” Baghaei said.

Pentagon Targets List Adds to Rising Tension

The warning follows a report by CNN, which cited informed sources claiming the Pentagon had drawn up a target list inside Iran. That list was reportedly prepared in anticipation of a possible order from US President Donald Trump to resume military strikes against the country.

The report landed like a thunderclap deepening anxieties about whether the fragile ceasefire between the two nations could hold.

A Ceasefire That Has Not Brought Peace

The roots of this standoff run deep. The United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian territory on February 28 targeting military and strategic sites. More than 3,000 people lost their lives as a result of the military campaign.

Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire on April 8 briefly raising hopes of a de-escalation. Subsequent peace talks held in Islamabad, however, collapsed without any agreement. No fresh strikes have been reported since, but the US has moved to tighten the screws by launching a naval blockade of Iranian ports a move that has added severe economic pressure on Tehran.

Trump Pushes Iran to Move Faster on a Deal

On Sunday, Trump publicly urged Iran to speed up negotiations saying bluntly that time is running out. The message was pointed, pressing Tehran to close a deal with Washington before the situation spirals further out of control.

Iran’s response delivered just hours later was equally sharp. Baghaei’s statement at the briefing signaled that Tehran has no intention of bowing to pressure or backing down from its position.
