China’s top leader made the striking remark during a high-profile summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing, as the two nations reaffirmed their strategic partnership.

A Pivotal Moment in the Middle East
Chinese President Xi Jinping declared on Wednesday that the Middle East particularly the Persian Gulf region stands at a critical crossroads. He said the area is now ready to shift away from conflict and move toward lasting peace. Xi made these remarks during a formal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
“The situation in the Persian Gulf region of the Middle East is at a decisive stage of transition from war to peace,” Xi said.

Putin’s Official Visit to China
Putin arrived in China on May 19 for a two-day official state visit at the personal invitation of Xi Jinping. The visit, spanning May 19 to 20, marked another chapter in the deepening ties between Moscow and Beijing. The two leaders held high-level talks covering a broad range of global issues from bilateral trade to regional security.
The summit came at a time of heightened global attention on the Middle East, with multiple ongoing conflicts continuing to shape diplomatic conversations worldwide.
