GST Reform Brings Festive Season Relief to Traders and Consumers – CM Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the GST reform is offering significant benefits to traders and consumers in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking at the Next Gen GST Savings Festival, he shared that he interacted with traders and customers in Hazratganj Market. He noted that consumption has risen in the markets, which will accelerate production and generate more employment opportunities.

GST Reform Adds Fresh Momentum to Markets

The Next Gen GST reform, effective from the first day of Sharadiya Navratri, has infused new energy into the marketplace. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a press conference near Universal Booksellers in Hazratganj. He said that reduced GST rates are benefiting common consumers, traders, and entrepreneurs alike. The reform has not only provided relief to buyers but also strengthened market activity and paved the way for job creation.

Greater Gains for Uttar Pradesh Consumers

CM Yogi emphasized that since Uttar Pradesh is the largest consumer state in the country, traders and consumers here will gain the maximum advantage from the GST reform. He highlighted that the new system is improving accessibility and affordability across multiple sectors.

Major Step for the Festive Season

The Chief Minister explained that notebooks, pencils, and other educational items for students have been made entirely tax-free. Essential household goods have been brought under the zero to five percent tax range. He further added that 33 life-saving medicines have been completely exempted from GST. According to him, rising market consumption is driving higher production, which benefits both traders and entrepreneurs while opening new avenues of employment for youth. He described this reform as a crucial step bringing relief to consumers during the festive season.

Reform Strengthens the State Economy

CM Yogi remarked that the reform will provide exceptional strength to Uttar Pradesh’s economy, being the nation’s largest consumer state. He pointed out that since the implementation of GST, the country’s collection has risen from ₹7 lakh crore to ₹22 lakh crore. In Uttar Pradesh, the revenue has grown from ₹49,000 crore to over ₹1.15 lakh crore, marking a significant boost.

Strong Step Towards Controlling Inflation

Before the press conference, the Chief Minister interacted with traders and customers in Hazratganj Market. He distributed pamphlets and banners related to GST reform. During his visit, both traders and consumers expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister. CM Yogi stated that these reforms were essential for the Indian economy and will serve as a strong step towards providing relief from inflation.
