Gangster Anmol Bishnoi Brought Back to India
Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, an accused in the Salman Khan house firing and Baba Siddiqui murder cases, was brought to India from the United States today. Anmol, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, was deported from the US. He reached Delhi Airport earlier today. Other deported individuals also arrived in India on the same flight.
Anmol Bishnoi was a fugitive residing in the US since 2022. He is the 19th person charged in the terror-syndicate run by his jailed brother, Lawrence Bishnoi. The NIA filed a charge sheet against him in March 2023. According to the NIA investigation, Anmol directly aided Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi. This help was for executing several terror incidents between 2020 and 2023. He was involved in planning. He played a key role in conspiring various crimes in India.
Operated Bishnoi Gang Network from America
Anmol managed the Bishnoi gang’s network while staying in America. He directed the gang’s shooters and ground operatives. He provided them with shelter and logistical support. The investigation also revealed that Anmol extorted money in India from abroad. For this, he took help from other gangsters. He operated the gang’s activities remotely.
Investigation Pending in High-Profile Cases
Investigation is pending against Anmol Bishnoi in several high-profile cases. The central government will decide which agency receives his custody next. A Maharashtra Police official stated that Anmol is also wanted. This is for the firing case at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in April 2024. The Mumbai Police will apply in court. They will seek to take him into their custody.
Cases Across States, Found with Fake Russian Passport
Mumbai Police sent two proposals for Anmol’s extradition. Several cases are registered against him across the country. Agencies learned earlier this month that Anmol changes his location. He moves between the US and Canada. Information emerged that he was detained in Canada. It was also found that he possessed a Russian passport. This passport was made using fake documents. Last year in November, he was also detained in the US. The NIA had announced a ₹10 lakh reward for his capture.
Linked to Sidhu Moosewala Murder Case
Anmol Bishnoi’s name was also linked to the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Meanwhile, Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of late NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, confirmed receiving an email. The email informed him of Anmol’s deportation to India. Zeeshan stated, “Anmol must be brought to India and punished for his crimes.”
26 Accused Arrested in Baba Siddiqui Murder
Former minister Baba Siddiqui was shot dead. This happened outside his son’s office in Bandra. The murder occurred on October 12, 2024. Many people linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were arrested in this case. Mumbai Police has also applied the strict MCOCA provisions. A total of 26 accused have been arrested. Anmol Bishnoi, Shubham Lonkar, and Zeeshan Mohammad Akhtar were wanted until now. Anmol’s return from the US is likely to speed up the investigation in all these cases.
