The Government of India is preparing to take a significant step regarding the Hajj pilgrimage. Sources indicate the Central Government is considering a new scheme. This scheme will make the Hajj pilgrimage more accessible for people from lower-income groups.

New Installment Scheme for Pilgrims

Under the proposed new plan, travellers who cannot afford to deposit the full amount at once will now be able to collect the funds in installments. The suggested system allows any Hajj aspirant to become eligible for the pilgrimage by saving money in installments for up to five years.

Fulfilling the Dream of Hajj

This initiative is seen as especially beneficial for financially constrained families. Many of these families have dreamed of going on Hajj for years. However, depositing the entire cost together has always been difficult. The government will soon release the terms and conditions for this scheme. Officials state that implementing it will make the Hajj journey more manageable and convenient. It will also allow a large number of interested individuals to complete their savings on time. The new scheme is expected to reduce the financial burden of the Hajj pilgrimage and ease the travel for common citizens.

Indian Hajj Committee Conference Held

Earlier, on November 22, the Hajj Committee of India (HCOI) organized a one-day national conference. The conference discussed improving facilities for Indian Hajj pilgrims for Hajj-2026. Dr. Chandrasekhar Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, chaired this meeting.

During the conference, Dr. Kumar directed the Indian Hajj Committee for complete digitalization of all Hajj-related work. This means processes should be portal-based, tech-enabled, and integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI). He emphasized that in this age of modern technology, all procedures must be fast, transparent, and free of manual work. This will ensure better and more convenient services for all travellers.
