India Pushes for Lasting Middle East Peace, Credits Donald Trump for Historic Gaza Ceasefire

Indian envoy at the United Nations reaffirmed India’s long-standing stance on Palestine. The nation recognized Palestine as an independent state in 1988 and continues its support.

India Praises Trump for Gaza Ceasefire Deal

India has given credit to Donald Trump for the Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The Indian envoy at the United Nations (UN) called Trump’s Gaza peace agreement an historic move. He strongly emphasized that talks must continue to sustain this accord.

Indian Envoy Parvataneni Harish addressed the UN. He said today’s open debate follows the Sharm El-Sheikh Gaza Peace Summit. That summit occurred on October 13, 2025. India had participated in this meeting. “We welcome this historic peace agreement,” he stated. Peace and stability on the Palestinian front affect the whole region. India advocates for permanent peace across the entire Middle East. It is crucial that the agreement holds up. The Gaza ceasefire must remain fully implemented.

New Delhi Commends US Diplomatic Push

The Indian envoy praised US President Donald Trump. He credited Trump for his key role in achieving this accord. India also appreciates the roles of Egypt and Qatar in this goal. India stands firm on its core belief. Dialogue, diplomacy, and a two-state solution are the only paths to peace. The US historic initiative provided diplomatic momentum for peace. All involved parties should uphold their commitments now.

India Condemns Terrorism and Seeks Hostage Release

The Indian envoy highlighted India’s consistent position on the crisis. This includes the events following the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. India has strongly condemned terrorism. The country stressed the need to end the destruction and suffering of civilians. India demanded the immediate release of all hostages. It also asserted that humanitarian aid to Gaza must continue without interruption.

India’s Ongoing Support to Palestine

India reiterated its long-standing approach to the Palestine issue. India recognized Palestine as an independent country in 1988. Support has continued steadily since then. India has provided over $170 million in aid to the Palestinian people. Projects worth more than $40 million are currently underway at various stages. Furthermore, India sent 135 metric tons of medicine and relief materials to Gaza. This shipment was made over the last two years. Harish noted that Palestinian rehabilitation requires global unity. The international community must work together to help them.
