J&K CM Pays Tribute to Victims
On Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah honored those killed in the Pahalgam attack. This tragic event occurred exactly one year ago, resulting in 26 fatalities. What started as a peaceful day for tourists at Baisaran meadow ended in a national tragedy. Families continue to carry the deep scars of that painful day.
Omar Abdullah Vows to Fight Violence
Sharing his thoughts on X, Abdullah stated, “One year on, we remain united against terror & against violence. We remain resolute in our desire to rid J&K of suffering & innocent deaths.” He labeled the strike as a “cowardly” act. He further promised, “We remain committed to doing everything to ensure it never happens again.”
Solidarity with Grieving Families
The Chief Minister expressed his deep support for the affected families. He added, “We also remain in eternal solidarity with the families who lost their loved ones a year ago in that cowardly attack. May the souls of the victims of the terror attack rest in peace.”
‘No Forgiveness for Terror,’ says LG Sinha
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared that the nation would never overlook this crime. “We will not forget. We will not forgive. This is our solemn vow. India stands unified against terrorism. We pledge unwavering commitment and resolute determination to eradicate terrorism from the soil of Jammu Kashmir,” Sinha said.
Remembering the Innocent Souls
Sinha offered his heartfelt respects to those who died in the 2025 incident. He mentioned, “Humble tributes to the innocent souls who lost their lives in the gruesome terror attack in Pahalgam on this day in 2025. Their memory endures indelibly in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with their families.”
Amit Shah Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance Policy
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid his respects to the victims. He asserted that India maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism. He posted on X, “Terrorism is the greatest enemy of humanity, against which we must stand united to fight and defeat. India will continue its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and those who harbour it.” Shah noted that the pain of the loss still hurts every Indian citizen.
A Nation United in Grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared a tribute. He said the victims of the “gruesome” attack would always be remembered. “As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed,” the PM wrote.
