Echoing PM Modi’s “Operation Sindoor on the games field” comment, Mandaviya posted on X, “Lost on the border, lost in the field too.”

Mandaviya Takes a Jibe at Pakistan Post-Defeat
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya couldn’t resist a dig at Pakistan after they fell to India in the Asia Cup 2025 final.
He reinforced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier statement about “Operation Sindoor on the games field,” tweeting on X, “Lost on the border, lost in the field too.”
Leaders Congratulate India for Unbeaten Run
Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also took to X to praise the Indian cricket squad for their stellar performance.
“Congratulate Indian Cricket Team on their spectacular win over Pakistan in the nail-biting Asia Cup Final to lift the cup. The team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament with their all-round performance. May the team continue its winning momentum to bring laurels for the country. Best wishes,” Patnaik wrote.
Victory Secured With Thrilling Run-Chase
Fans and officials alike celebrated as India clinched the Asia Cup with a five-wicket win in a tense finale.
Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, alongside key contributions from Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, steered India to their second T20I Asia Cup title and ninth overall, including ODI editions.
Pakistan’s Strong Start Stifled by Indian Spinners
Winning the toss, India chose to field first. Pakistan got off to a solid start with an 84-run partnership between Sahidzada Farhan (57 in 38 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (46 in 35 balls).
But India’s spinners turned the game around. Kuldeep Yadav (4/30) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/30) sparked a collapse, reducing Pakistan from 113/1 in 12.4 overs to 146 all out in 19.1 overs. Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) finished the final wickets.
Run-Chase Drama and Stellar Performances
Chasing the target, India stumbled to 20/3 after Faheem Ashraf’s fiery bowling (3/29). Yet, Tilak Varma (69*) anchored a 57-run partnership with Sanju Samson (24), bringing India back into contention.
Shivam Dube (33 in 22 balls) and Tilak delivered crucial hitting, keeping India ahead despite Pakistan’s occasional brilliance. Rinku Singh sealed the thrilling win with the final runs.
