Tech veteran Parminder Singh joins Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited as its founding CEO. He carries over 30 years of Asia-Pacific tech leadership across Google, Apple, Twitter, and IBM.

Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), India’s boldly ambitious enterprise AI joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and Meta Platforms, has found its captain. Tech veteran Parminder Singh takes over as the founding Chief Executive Officer of REIL, effective immediately. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, warmly welcomed the appointment, describing it as a pivotal step toward building India’s enterprise AI future.
REIL is a 70:30 joint venture. Reliance Intelligence Limited holds a 70% stake, while Facebook Overseas Inc., a Meta subsidiary, controls the remaining 30%. The venture was specifically created to deliver sovereign, scalable AI solutions for Indian businesses and global markets. It merges Meta’s AI muscle with Reliance’s enterprise network, AI compute backbone, and Jio’s vast nationwide connectivity.
Announcing the appointment, Akash Ambani said: “Building India’s enterprise AI capability is a generational opportunity, and REIL was created to lead that charge. Parminder brings precisely the blend of global technology leadership, deep Asian market intuition, and executive credibility that this role demands. He has built digital businesses at scale, navigated complex transformations, and earned the trust of boards, engineers, and customers alike. Parminder’s appointment is a critical first step towards assembling a world-class team that will define enterprise AI in India and set a benchmark well beyond it.”
Reacting to his new role, Singh said: “Enterprise AI in India is not a future story, it is a right-now opportunity. Indian enterprises need a trusted AI partner who understands both the technology and the business context. REIL is built to be exactly that. With Jio and Meta’s combined capabilities, we have a genuinely differentiated proposition. I am deeply honoured to lead this venture, and excited by what we can build together.”
A Career Built Across Big Tech Giants
Parminder Singh is no stranger to high-stakes technology leadership. He carries over three decades of hands-on experience with global tech powerhouses. His impressive résumé includes leadership stints at Google, Apple, Twitter (now X), and IBM. He built and ran businesses across Asia-Pacific with consistent results. At Google, Singh led APAC’s display advertising business, managing billion-dollar revenue operations. He helped create alternative revenue channels beyond search. His early contributions also included monetising digital properties in India. This involved pioneering online sports streaming monetisation during the IPL era. At Twitter, Singh was a founding member of the platform’s Asia operations. He set up the business across seven countries and helped drive some of Twitter’s fastest-growing revenue markets globally.
Driving Transformation at Scale
Before joining REIL, Singh held the position of Chief Commercial and Digital Officer at Mediacorp from 2017 to 2024. Mediacorp is Singapore’s largest national media group. He oversaw a comprehensive digital and AI-driven transformation of the entire organisation. He redesigned the company’s business model from the ground up. He launched fresh revenue streams and built strong partnerships with global publishers and platforms. Under his leadership, Mediacorp’s digital business expanded at double the industry growth rate. He also drove performance marketing models, content-commerce initiatives, and large-scale creator ecosystem programmes.
Singh had also co-founded ClayboxAI, an AI advisory firm. ClayboxAI specialises in building organisational AI readiness and fluency across industries. He additionally co-launched WeKamp, an AI-powered community platform currently in its pilot stage.
Early Foundations and Education
Singh started his professional journey with HCL before moving to Apple India. At Apple, he climbed to the role of Head of India Sales during a defining era. This period coincided with landmark product launches including the iMac and iPod. He later moved to IBM, where he shaped marketing strategy across hardware, software, and services in the Asia-Pacific region. His academic foundation comes from Panjab University, where he earned an MBA in Marketing.
