SIR Confusion: Why Voters are Concerned
The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) across nine states and three Union Territories has left many voters confused. Some people do not know the correct way to submit the form. In many areas, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are not reaching people on time. Due to this, many voters are worried. They are constantly wondering if their SIR form has been submitted.
The Easy Way to Check Your Status
The Election Commission has introduced an easy online system to resolve this confusion. This is excellent news. Any voter can now check with a few clicks from home. They can see if their form is uploaded or still pending. Learn the simple steps for this process now.
Why Checking the SIR Form Status is Essential
SIR is the most crucial process to keep the electoral roll updated. During this time, old data gets corrected. New voters are also added. Incorrect information is simultaneously deleted. Many people felt their job was done after giving the form to the BLO. However, the real challenge begins right after that.
The submission is not considered official until the form is uploaded into the system. Uploading often faces delays in various cases. This delay directly impacts the inclusion of your name in the draft list. Therefore, you must check the online status. No voter should be left out of the list due to an error or delay.
How to Know if Your Form is Submitted
To check your Special Intensive Revision form status, you must visit the Election Commission website, voters.eci.gov.in. First, open the portal and navigate to the ‘Fill Enumeration Form’ section related to SIR. Next, you need to enter your mobile or EPIC number to log in. You will access the system after receiving the One-Time Password (OTP).
Here, you select your state. Then, enter your EPIC number. If the BLO has uploaded the form, a message appears on the screen. This message confirms your form has been submitted. If it is not yet uploaded, the website displays an empty form. This means your form is pending. You might need to submit it again.
What to Do If Your Form Does Not Show as Uploaded
BLOs sometimes upload forms in separate batches. So, it is wise to wait a little if the status does not show immediately. If there is no system update for several days, contact the concerned BLO directly. If you submitted the form online yourself and the status remains blank, resubmitting is better. If wrong information or an incorrect status appears, you should inform the BLO right away.
