Iran’s Parliament Speaker and chief nuclear negotiator Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf announced that Iran has shipped over 40 million barrels of oil. This comes after the United States lifted its maritime blockade on Iranian ports and coastal waters.

Oil tankers navigate the Strait of Hormuz as Iran resumes large-scale oil exports following the lifting of the US naval blockade in June 2026.Iran has exported more than 40 million barrels of oil since the US lifted its naval blockade on Iranian ports. This was confirmed by Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf.
On June 18, the US military announced it had lifted the naval blockade on Iranian ports and coastal areas. This move came directly under orders from President Donald Trump.
“From the day the naval blockade was lifted until today, we have exported more than 40 million barrels of oil,” Qalibaf said in a live television broadcast on Iranian state media.
He also touched on the US-issued oil trade license. Washington granted Iran this license on June 22. Previously, Iran was selling its oil at heavily discounted prices. Now, the price of Iranian oil has jumped by 20%. Iran is already collecting revenue from these sales.
“If we are denied the ability to sell our oil, then nobody benefits from it,” Qalibaf added.
Iran and the United States signed a memorandum remotely on the night of June 18. The memorandum outlines an end to the military conflict that began on February 28. It also sets clear timelines for the US to remove its naval blockade. In return, Iran will restore free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Additionally, Iran has committed to never acquiring nuclear weapons. The future of Iran’s nuclear programme will be handled through a separate agreement. Both sides will hold dedicated talks on this issue over the next 60 days. For Tehran, the end goal is the lifting of all anti-Iranian sanctions.
