In Mastung district of Balochistan, a powerful explosion on the Jafar Express caused several coaches to overturn. The site plunged into chaos as rescue teams worked to free trapped passengers. No group has claimed responsibility so far for this attack.

A powerful explosion rocked the Jafar Express in the Dasht area of Mastung district, southwestern Balochistan, Pakistan, on Tuesday, September 23. The blast caused the train to derail, overturning several coaches and sending shockwaves through the area. Initial reports indicate that at least three coaches suffered major damage. Following the explosion, panic spread rapidly as passengers and bystanders rushed to safety.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred while the train was passing through the Dasht region. The force of the blast was so intense that multiple coaches were severely damaged, derailing and flipping over. Several passengers, including women and children, became trapped inside the wreckage.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. As soon as the incident was reported, rescue teams arrived at the scene. Local residents and emergency responders worked together to pull trapped passengers from the overturned coaches. Authorities confirmed that several people sustained injuries and were being transported to nearby hospitals. The exact number of casualties remains unknown at this time.
This is not the first attack targeting the Jafar Express. Last month, on August 10, an earlier blast in Mastung district caused six coaches to derail. Four passengers were injured in that incident. At that time, the train was heading towards Peshawar, and the explosion occurred near Spezand Railway Station, about 25 kilometers from Quetta, with around 350 passengers on board.
