A deadly explosion shook Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday during a cricket match, leaving at least one person dead and several others wounded, local media outlet Dawn reported citing official sources.The incident took place at the Kausar Cricket Ground located in Khar tehsil of Bajaur district. District Police Officer Waqas Rafique confirmed to Dawn that the attack was specifically targeted and was carried out using an improvised explosive device (IED).Authorities revealed that one man lost his life in the explosion while multiple people, including children present at the venue, suffered injuries. The injured victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.Officials also stated that soon after the blast, suspected militants attempted to carry out another strike on a local police station; however, their attempt failed to cause any damage. Initial investigations suggest that no militant group has so far come forward to claim responsibility for the attack.
