Trump Takes Credit for Peace

American President Donald Trump has claimed credit for stopping a war between India and Pakistan again. He has done this before, but this time he added a new detail. He says he threatened both nations with 350 percent tariffs to stop them. Trump claims both countries were scared and agreed to back down immediately. He also mentioned that Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif thanked him for saving millions of lives.

The US-Saudi Forum Speech

Trump made these claims while speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). He stated, “I am very good at settling… over the years I’ve done a very good job.” He emphasized his ability to resolve dangerous international conflicts through economic pressure.

The Nuclear Threat Scenario

Donald Trump explained the tense situation vividly during his speech. He said, “India and Pakistan—they were about to shoot nuclear weapons at each other.” To stop this, he issued a strict warning. He told them, “I said okay, you can do it, but I am going to put 350 percent tariffs.” He also warned that America would stop all trade with them.

Reactions from Both Nations

According to Trump, both nations begged him not to impose these sanctions. He recounted, “They said—No, no you can’t do that. I said—I am going to do it.” He promised to lift the tariffs only if they stopped the war. He told them he would not let them kill millions or let “nuclear dust” reach Los Angeles.

Mocking Biden and Receiving Thanks

Trump claimed that no other President could have achieved this result. He mocked Joe Biden, saying Biden wouldn’t even know which countries were fighting. “He doesn’t have a clue,” Trump said while laughing loudly. Later, Shehbaz Sharif called to thank him for saving millions of people, despite not knowing them personally.

Context of the Conflict

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to destroy terror camps in Pakistan. This was revenge for the Pahalgam terror attack in April. The operation successfully destroyed 9 terror camps. Pakistan tried to retaliate by attacking Indian military bases but failed. Tensions peaked with cross-border attacks, but both sides agreed to a ceasefire on May 10.
