Trump’s Popularity Rises in Israel After Hostage Release

After the safe return of hostages from Hamas captivity, U.S. President Donald Trump’s stature in Israel has significantly grown. On Monday, Trump arrived at the Knesset amid ongoing celebrations. Lawmakers welcomed him with thunderous applause and a long-standing ovation that lasted nearly two and a half minutes.

As Trump stepped onto the podium to begin his speech, the Knesset guard played the trumpet while the entire assembly rose in appreciation.

Israeli MPs Applaud Netanyahu and Trump

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who accompanied Trump, also received huge applause from members of parliament, who affectionately cheered his nickname “Bibi.” The atmosphere in the chamber was filled with celebration and gratitude.

U.S. Officials Also Receive Standing Ovation

Before Trump’s speech, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana delivered a detailed introduction. During his address, he acknowledged several key members of Trump’s team who played vital roles in the Gaza ceasefire — including Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Ambassador Mike Huckabee. Israeli lawmakers stood and applauded each one.

Netanyahu Awards Trump Israel’s Highest Civil Honor

Prime Minister Netanyahu awarded Trump Israel’s top civilian honor, recognizing his efforts toward peace. While presenting the award, Netanyahu expressed confidence that Trump would soon win the Nobel Peace Prize, saying, “Even if it takes time, he deserves it.” Though Trump hasn’t received the Nobel Peace Prize yet, Netanyahu’s faith in his leadership remains firm.

Earlier, after their meeting, Netanyahu presented Trump with a symbolic golden dove, known as the “Golden Peace Pigeon,” representing peace and friendship — a gesture that carried deep significance.

Netanyahu’s Address to Parliament

During his speech before President Trump, Netanyahu said, “We will remember October 7 forever. Those monsters took our children away from us.”
He further added, “Mr. President, together we will achieve peace once again. We did it before under the Abraham Accords, and we will do it again. This victory has come with great sacrifice.”
