US President Donald Trump once again claimed he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Trump is currently on a visit to Japan. He stated that he used tariffs as leverage to stop a war. This conflict was between two nuclear-armed nations. The US President mentioned that “seven new, beautiful” aircraft were shot down during the fighting. As usual, he did not specify which country’s planes were destroyed.

Tariffs Stopped Wars, Says Trump

Donald Trump addressed American troops in Japan. He stated national security benefitted from the wars he stopped. “All of them were due to tariffs,” he claimed. “Truthfully, I did a great service to the world through trade and tariffs.” He then referred to the situation, saying, “If you look at India and Pakistan, they were going at it at that time.”

‘Talked to Modi and PAK Field Marshal’

Trump asserted he told PM Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s military chief the truth. “If you people fight a war, we will not do any trade with you,” he warned them. The US President said both nuclear-armed nations were ready to clash then. He claimed “seven beautiful new planes were shot down.” Trump believes the situation only came under control after his firm warning.

Trump Wants Nobel Peace Prize

Trump said his tariff policy solved eight major global conflicts. He believes he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. This is for his role in stopping the India-Pakistan conflict. He declared, “If I hadn’t taken a step at that time, a big war could have broken out.”

India Rejects Trump’s Mediation Claim

India has consistently and completely rejected Donald Trump’s assertion. The Indian External Affairs Ministry clarified the tension was lowered. This happened through direct diplomatic contacts between the two nations. It clearly stated no third party played any part in this de-escalation.
