Explosions in Caracas and La Guaira port have triggered widespread panic. Authorities cleared the airspace immediately while the US banned all civilian flights from the area.

Powerful explosions have suddenly rocked the South American nation of Venezuela, causing mass panic across the region. International news agency Reuters confirmed that loud blasts were heard in several areas, including the capital city, Caracas. Sources indicate these explosions were not limited to the capital alone. Reports of fires and blasts also emerged from the La Guaira port area near Maiquetía. This location is strategically vital due to its major port and proximity to aviation hubs. Following the blasts, Venezuela’s airspace was nearly emptied for safety. Many international flights diverted their routes immediately to avoid potential danger.
The United States responded by banning all civilian aircraft from entering Venezuelan airspace. A notification from the Federal Aviation Authority cited significant security risks for this urgent move. However, this restriction does not apply to US military planes or helicopters. This decision highlights how sensitive the situation has become for Washington. They clearly intend to avoid any possible threats to civilian lives.
Serious Allegations by Colombia’s President
Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro has issued a grave statement regarding the situation. He claimed that Caracas is currently facing an active bombardment. “The world must stay alert because Venezuela is under attack with missiles,” he stated. Petro urged the international community to take immediate action. He called for emergency meetings of the United Nations and the Organization of American States. He believes global leaders must discuss these developments and intervene quickly.
Fears of Rising Regional Conflict
Analysts warn that confirmed attacks on Caracas could destabilize all of Latin America. Venezuela is already struggling with deep political and economic crises. A foreign military strike would only worsen the existing regional instability. So far, the Venezuelan government has not officially confirmed a military strike. However, reactions from neighboring countries and global agencies suggest a very serious situation.
