Iran Claims Victory Over Washington

Iran’s head of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, made a striking statement Tehran sees itself as the winner in its confrontation with the United States.

“We consider ourselves victorious in this standoff, and it is Iran that emerged as the winner of this war. Winners are not dictated to and they are not told what to do. A victorious side is never treated like the defeated one,” Azizi stated.

A Conflict That Shook the Region

The military confrontation began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched strikes against targets across Iranian territory. The attacks described as acts of aggression by Tehran claimed the lives of over 3,000 people.

A ceasefire between Washington and Tehran came into effect on April 8. Subsequent talks held in Islamabad ended without any concrete agreement. No resumption of hostilities has been reported since but the United States has moved to impose a blockade on Iranian ports, keeping tensions at a high level.

No Conditions Iran Stands Firm

Azizi’s remarks carry a clear political message Iran will not accept any terms that treat it as a defeated party. The Iranian parliament’s stance signals that Tehran plans to negotiate if at all strictly from a position of strength.

The port blockade by Washington adds a new layer of pressure but Iran’s leadership appears unwavering in its position.
