Iran’s IRGC Claims Destruction of Patriot System and HIMARS Launchers at US Base in Kuwait

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says its fighters struck a US military installation in Kuwait taking out a Patriot air defence complex, HIMARS rocket launchers, satellite communications, and radar systems as part of the sixth wave of Operation Nasr-2.

Iran’s IRGC Strikes Deep: Patriot and HIMARS Gone in Kuwait

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran declared on July 15, 2026, a major strike on a US military base in Kuwait. The attack part of the sixth wave of Operation Nasr-2 targeted multiple high-value American military assets simultaneously.

Missiles and Drones Tear Into Kuwait Base

Ground and aerospace forces of the IRGC launched a coordinated missile and drone assault on the US installation. According to the IRGC’s official statement carried by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency the targets struck were the satellite communications centre, the radar network of US air and missile defence systems, the Patriot air defence complex, and HIMARS rocket launcher platforms. All of them were destroyed, the statement said.

“Warriors of the IRGC Ground Forces and Aerospace Force within the sixth wave of Operation Nasr-2 launched missile and drone strikes on a satellite communications centre, air and missile defence radar, a Patriot complex at the US base in Kuwait, and HIMARS launch platforms, destroying them,” the IRGC declared.

Part of a Widening Campaign

The strike in Kuwait forms part of Iran’s expanding retaliatory campaign Operation Nasr-2 launched in direct response to US military strikes on Iranian territory. Earlier waves of the operation targeted US Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain’s Juffair base, ammunition depots, fuel tanks, and command infrastructure. In a separate simultaneous strike, IRGC forces also claimed the destruction of several American MQ-9 Reaper drones at a base in Jordan.

No US or Kuwait Response Yet

Neither the United States military nor Kuwaiti authorities had issued any immediate comment or confirmation regarding Iran’s claims at the time of publication. The US-Iran military confrontation escalating since Operation Epic Fury launched by the US and Israel against Iran in February 2026 continues to spread across multiple Gulf states.
