Khamgaon: The historic Januna Lake in the city will soon be developed as a tourist center and all modern facilities will be provided at this place, asserted Labour Minister Akash Fundkar. On Friday, the immersion ghat built on the banks of the lake at a cost of Rs 1 crore was inaugurated by him.
He was speaking on the occasion. Akash Fundkar said that, ‘To avoid inconvenience to the devotees during the immersion of the big idol during the Ganesh festival and to prevent accidents, all facilities like strong platforms, steps, ramps, paver blocks, rescue teams, Nirmalya Kundi, artificial ghats and lighting system for the night will be provided on this ghat. Giving information on the occasion, Prashant Shelke, Chief Officer of the Municipal Council, said that the beautification of the lake area is underway on a large scale.
