PM Modi Leads Milestone PRAGATI Session
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 50th PRAGATI meeting on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The meeting focused on reviewing projects across five states. These projects span major sectors like road, railway, power, water resources, and coal. The total expenditure for these initiatives exceeds ₹40,000 crore.
PRAGATI’s Increasing Relevance and Impact
PM Modi stated that PRAGATI’s relevance grows as India advances rapidly. He emphasized that PRAGATI is essential for maintaining the pace of reforms. It ensures time-bound and effective outcomes. The platform has successfully completed many long-pending projects for national benefit. He further noted that timely decisions improve coordination. Establishing accountability naturally increases the government’s working speed. This directly impacts citizens’ lives.
Review of 377 Projects Since 2014
The Prime Minister mentioned that the PRAGATI-led ecosystem has played a major role. Over the past decade, it has accelerated projects worth more than ₹85 lakh crore. This includes supporting the ground-level implementation of crucial welfare schemes.
He shared that 377 projects have been reviewed under PRAGATI since 2014. Out of 3,162 identified issues in these projects, 2,958 have been resolved. This is approximately 94% resolution. This process has significantly reduced project delays and cost overruns. It has also improved coordination among various agencies.
PM Modi’s Focus on PM SHRI Scheme
During the review of the PM SHRI (Schools for Rising India) scheme, PM Modi stressed a key point. He wants the scheme to set the national benchmark for holistic and future-ready schooling. He insisted that the implementation must be outcome-oriented. It should not just focus on building infrastructure.
The Prime Minister instructed all Chief Secretaries to closely monitor the PM SHRI scheme. He added that PM SHRI schools should become models for other state government schools. He suggested that senior government officials should conduct field visits. These visits will help evaluate the performance of PM SHRI schools.
