The electoral registration officer of the New Delhi assembly constituency posted the notice addressed to Neelima on X.

The Election Commission authorities in Delhi have sent a notice to Kota Neelima, wife of Congress leader Pawan Khera, accusing her of being listed in the electoral rolls of more than one constituency, including a seat in Telangana. The development took place on Thursday and raised fresh controversy over dual registrations.
So far, there has been no official response from Neelima, who also holds a political role within the party in Telangana, nor from her husband Pawan Khera, regarding the action initiated against her.
A copy of the notice issued to Neelima was made public on X by the electoral registration officer of the New Delhi assembly constituency. Earlier this week, Khera himself received a similar notice on Tuesday after being found enrolled as a voter in both New Delhi and Jangpura assembly constituencies.
The notice served to Neelima pointed out that her name appears in the electoral list of New Delhi constituency as well as Khairtabad in Telangana. She has been asked to submit her reply by 11 a.m. on September 10.
“It has been brought to my notice that you have got your name registered in the electoral roll of more than one constituency.
As you may be aware, that being registered in the electoral roll of more than one constituency is a penal offence under the Representation of People Act, 1950. You are therefore, directed to show cause as to why action should not be taken against you under said Act,” the notice stated.
Meanwhile, the BJP on Wednesday alleged that Neelima possesses two active voter ID cards. The party further claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi cannot distance himself from what it described as “acts of criminality within his own ranks.”
