Adobe Firefly Gets Viral Gemini Nano Banana AI Model for Image Generation

Adobe has added Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, popularly called Nano Banana, into Firefly for advanced AI-powered editing.

Adobe has officially rolled out Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model inside its Firefly app, giving users access to the popular Nano Banana tool. The tech company revealed on Thursday that the advanced text-to-image model is now part of Firefly’s creative suite. This premium integration will require users to subscribe, but in return, it opens the door to next-level editing and image generation. Alongside the Firefly app, Nano Banana also makes its way to Firefly Boards, Photoshop’s Generative Fill, and Adobe Express.

Adobe Expands Its AI Toolbox With Gemini’s Nano Banana

The software leader confirmed that Gemini’s 2.5 Flash Image model is now listed among Firefly’s third-party models. Nano Banana joins an impressive lineup that already features Google’s Imagen 3 and 4, OpenAI’s GPT Image, Runway Gen-4 Image, Flux 1.1 Ultra, and more.

Accessing the Nano Banana model is simple. Users just need to launch the Firefly app, head to the text-to-image tool, and select the model from the picker. After that, they can enter prompts and create visuals instantly.

Firefly also allows uploading an existing image into the prompt bar for editing. Known for maintaining character consistency, the model lets creators change specific parts of an image without affecting the rest. Multiple edits are possible thanks to its support for follow-up queries.

Google’s Nano Banana has recently exploded in popularity for its unique editing style. The Nano Banana feature is part of Firefly’s premium subscription plan. While free-tier members only get limited credits, the Firefly Standard subscription offers 2,000 monthly credits. Priced at Rs. 797.68 per month (GST included), it also includes the ability to make 20 short videos, translate up to six minutes of audio, and unlock Firefly Boards access.
