Pensioners have online and offline options for submitting their Life Certificate.

The deadline for all central and state government pensioners to submit their Life Certificate has arrived. Pensioners must submit their Life Certificate in November. This ensures their pension payments continue without interruption. The government now offers both online and offline options for Life Certificate submission.

Pensioners can now generate their Life Certificate digitally. However, in certain special cases, pensioners cannot submit the Digital Life Certificate. For these individuals, only offline submission is allowed. Before generating a Digital Life Certificate, you should check if you fall into this specific category.

Which Pensioners Cannot Submit a Digital Life Certificate?

The facility to submit a Digital Life Certificate is for those who have neither taken up re-employment nor remarried. If a pensioner is re-employed or remarries, their pension terms change. The digital system does not automatically recognize these changes. Consequently, these pensioners must submit a paper-based Life Certificate at the relevant bank or department. They must also provide necessary supporting documents to update their records.

How to Submit a Digital Life Certificate?

Pensioners can submit their Life Certificate through both online and offline methods. They can use the Jeevan Pramaan portal or the UMANG app for online submission. The online process involves biometric verification using the Aadhaar card. This process then generates the digital certificate. Alternatively, you can submit your Life Certificate offline by visiting the relevant bank branch or a CSC center.
