udy Giuliani Fights for His Life Trump Calls Him a Warrior as Hospital Crisis Deepens
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 81, lies in critical but stable condition at a Florida hospital as President Donald Trump breaks his silence, calls for prayers, and blasts Democrats in an emotional Truth Social post.
America’s Mayor in a Florida Hospital
Rudy Giuliani the man millions once called “America’s Mayor” is now fighting what may be the toughest battle of his life. The 81-year-old former New York City mayor was rushed to a Florida hospital and placed in critical condition. His spokesman Ted Goodman confirmed the news late Sunday night.
Goodman did not reveal the specific reason behind the hospitalization. He did not name the hospital either. “Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,” Goodman said. He then added “We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
Just two days before being hospitalized, Giuliani hosted his online show “America’s Mayor Live” from Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump Speaks Up Blasts Democrats in Emotional Post
President Donald Trump jumped into the conversation fast. He took to Truth Social and posted a fiery message one that was equal parts prayer and political punch.
“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” Trump wrote. He then turned up the heat on political opponent “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”
Trump’s message sent shockwaves across social media platforms almost immediately.
A Life Marked by Triumphs and Turbulence
Giuliani is a Brooklyn native who built a legendary career over decades. He worked as a top federal prosecutor in New York through the 1980s famously dismantling powerful mob networks. He then became New York City’s mayor from 1994 to 2001. His tenure saw a dramatic drop in the city’s crime rates. Then came September 11, 2001 the terror attack that shook the world. Giuliani’s calm and decisive leadership during that tragedy earned him global admiration and cemented his “America’s Mayor” title.
He ran for president in 2008 under the Republican ticket but the campaign did not go far. He later became one of Trump’s closest legal allies, joining the president’s personal legal team in 2018.
A Rocky Road in Recent Years
Giuliani’s later years were clouded by legal battles. A federal court in Washington, D.C., found him liable for defaming two Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss with false claims of ballot fraud during the 2020 election. He was ordered to pay the pair nearly $150 million in damages.
In July 2024, a New York state appeals court disbarred Giuliani ruling that he had “flagrantly misused his prominent position” to spread false and sometimes perjurious claims about the 2020 election in several courts. Washington, D.C., followed suit two months later, revoking his license there too.
He also faced criminal charges in Georgia and Arizona over his post-2020 election actions. He denied all wrongdoing. In November, Trump announced pardons for Giuliani and 76 other allies though legal experts noted the pardons held mostly symbolic value, since presidents cannot pardon state-level crimes.
A Frightening Car Crash Before This Hospital Stay
This latest health scare comes less than a year after a terrifying road accident. On August 30, 2025, Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed on a New Hampshire highway. His head of security, Michael Ragusa, revealed that before the crash, Giuliani had actually stopped to help a domestic violence victim flagging down officers and staying on the scene until help arrived.
“He was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg,” Ragusa said. Trump had announced plans to award Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom following that accident.
Son Carries the Torch
While Rudy fights for his health his son, Andrew Giuliani, continues public service in a high-profile role. Andrew serves as executive director of the White House presidential task force for the 2026 FIFA World Cup a tournament the United States is co-hosting with Canada and Mexico.
