Bihar is heading toward assembly elections in a few months. The contest is between the NDA and the Grand Alliance. To oust Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from power, the Congress-RJD coalition is putting in all its strength. However, suspense continues over who will be projected as the Chief Ministerial face.

Congress Puts CM Candidate Issue on Hold Again
The Bihar Congress has once more complicated the issue of announcing a Chief Ministerial candidate for the Grand Alliance. Party in-charge for Bihar, Krishna Allavaru, made it clear that the decision will not be announced by the party alone. Speaking to reporters in Patna, he stated, “The people of Bihar will decide who will be the Chief Minister.” He assured journalists not to worry, saying, “Everything is fine. Bihar’s public will decide the face of the Chief Minister.” His comments made it clear that the alliance wants to leave the final decision to the people instead of rushing into a declaration.
Seat-Sharing Talks in Progress
On the question of seat-sharing, Allavaru explained that discussions among partners are moving smoothly. He said that in every meeting, efforts are being made to finalize as many seats as possible. He expressed satisfaction with the process and added that significant progress will be visible in the coming days. His remarks indicated that the Congress remains confident about resolving seat distribution without conflict.
On Including New Alliance Partners
When asked about the entry of new partners into the Grand Alliance, Allavaru remarked that every coalition, whether at the state or national level, demands adjustments. He stated, “If new alliance partners join, the existing ones must make some sacrifices. This is not just the principle of our alliance, it is the principle of every alliance.” His comment hinted that the Congress is ready for compromises if it ensures a stronger opposition bloc against the ruling NDA.
Strong Words Against Government
Allavaru also commented on the baton charge against contractual employees in Patna on Wednesday. He sharply criticized both the state and central governments, saying, “In Patna, the government belongs to vote thieves. In Delhi, the government belongs to vote thieves. So, a government formed by stealing votes always lathi-charges people. It allots thousands of acres of land to Adani at cheap prices but never works for the common people. It knows it is winning by stealing votes, so it only helps mafias, gangsters, and big industrialists.” His statements reflected the aggressive stand of Congress against both state and central leadership.
FIR Threats and Welfare Schemes
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav is running a campaign under the “Maa-Bahan Yojana” and collecting forms, which has drawn criticism from the NDA. Responding to the issue, Allavaru said, “If doing welfare work for the people is wrong and they want to file an FIR, then go ahead. The INDIA alliance will not step back from people’s issues and welfare.” His comments emphasized that the coalition is determined to continue with welfare measures despite threats or opposition.
Decision on Deputy CM Post After Government Formation
Questions also arose regarding Mukesh Sahani being appointed as Deputy Chief Minister. On this, Allavaru kept his stance cautious, stating, “First let the government be formed, then we will decide.” His response made it clear that the Grand Alliance will avoid premature commitments on power-sharing until it secures victory.
