Donald Trump Lashes Out at UN Over Faulty Teleprompter, Says “They Can’t Do a Single Job Right”

When Donald Trump arrived at the UN to deliver his speech, the teleprompter malfunctioned. He also mocked the faulty escalator and slammed the UN for inefficiency. The US President declared that the organization “can’t even do one job properly” and accused it of only sending letters instead of stopping wars.

Trump Targets UN in General Assembly Speech

During his address at the United Nations General Assembly, US President Donald Trump openly criticized the UN. He began his remarks by mocking the malfunctioning teleprompter and then compared the organization’s functioning to the faulty device. “I had to do its job myself,” Trump said while pointing at the broken machine.

The American leader asserted, “I have stopped seven wars in seven months and saved millions of lives. That was the UN’s responsibility, but just like the broken teleprompter, the UN’s system is equally broken.” He emphasized that the UN, established to preserve peace, has failed to fulfill its duty, leaving him to take charge. According to Trump, the organization only writes letters, which never prevent wars.

As Trump continued his jibe, First Lady Melania Trump smiled. He was addressing the 80th session of the UN General Assembly as the sitting US President, with America being one of the organization’s permanent members.

Jibe at Faulty Escalator and Teleprompter

The debate’s opening address was delivered by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, after which Trump took the stage. It was then revealed that the teleprompter was not working. Trump joked about UN officials, remarking, “I know the person responsible for this is in trouble. I will speak from the heart. A broken teleprompter will not affect my speech.”

Reports suggest that the UN’s economic condition has worsened due to reduced US funding and delayed contributions from China. Trump also recalled his entry into the UN building, where the escalator malfunctioned. “Melania is fit, so she managed fine. I was worried she might fall,” he quipped.

“I Don’t Want a Nobel, People Want Me to Get It”

Highlighting his achievements, Trump declared, “I have saved millions of lives by stopping wars. When people return safely from battle to their families, their joy matters more than any Nobel Prize. The wars I halted had little chance of ending otherwise.”

Trump added that many want him to receive the Nobel Prize. He also mentioned the Russia-Ukraine conflict, saying, “Russia is killing the people of Ukraine, yet European nations continue to buy oil from Russia.”
