At the UN yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu appeared with a QR code pinned to his suit. This code was part of Israel’s special public diplomacy campaign in New York and linked directly to the October 7 Hamas attack.

During his address at the United Nations Security Council, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wore a QR code on his suit. The unusual move quickly captured attention across social media and news platforms, leaving people curious about its exact purpose.

Netanyahu explained that the code linked to a website documenting the atrocities of October 7. Other Israeli delegates attending the session also wore the same code badge. This initiative formed a significant part of Israel’s broader public diplomacy campaign in New York.
The campaign included dozens of billboard trucks and digital displays near the UN headquarters and Times Square. These screens highlighted the message “Remember October 7” along with the QR code. The move came at a time when protests against Israeli actions in Gaza continued across the United States. With this effort, Israel aimed to influence American public perception of its military operations.

What Did Netanyahu Say at the UN?
Addressing the assembly, Netanyahu spoke directly to Israeli hostages held in Gaza through loudspeakers. He began his remarks in Hebrew before switching to English and declared, “Our brave heroes (the hostages), I am Prime Minister Netanyahu, speaking to you directly from the United Nations. We have not forgotten you for a single moment. The people of Israel stand with you.”
He stressed that he would not stop until every hostage returned safely. Netanyahu further revealed that his speech was broadcast live to the hostages’ mobile phones and thanked his intelligence agency for making it possible.
Many Delegates Walked Out of the Hall
As Netanyahu took the stage, several world leaders left the hall in protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza. The mass walkout left the chamber almost empty. However, the Israeli delegation applauded loudly throughout his speech, showing full support for their leader.
