Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Under the Hood

The Nubia Z80 Ultra will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, introduced during the Snapdragon Tech Summit earlier this week. The new chip is based on 3nm architecture and promises a 20 percent performance jump compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It comes with two prime cores clocked at 4.6GHz and six performance cores at 3.62GHz. Alongside Nubia, brands like iQOO, OnePlus, and Realme have also confirmed plans to use this chipset, while Xiaomi’s 17 series has already debuted with it.

According to Ni Fei, the Nubia Z80 Ultra will sport a 1/1.55-inch primary camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It will also feature a seven-element lens arrangement, as translated from Chinese. Nubia has showcased a sample image that hints at enhanced low-light performance and better clarity. This step signals the company’s effort to elevate the photography experience compared to the Z70 Ultra.

Full-Screen Display With Advanced Refresh Rate

Like its predecessors, the Nubia Z80 Ultra will feature a full-screen design without any notches or punch-hole cutouts. The phone is expected to keep its under-display selfie camera technology. The display is set to offer a 144Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 3,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling support. These enhancements suggest smoother visuals and improved responsiveness for gaming and everyday use.
